To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Calculating Change, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs. Goal
Builds Upon Instructions for Use:Change Maker provides students with practice counting money and estimating differences. To use Change Maker, choose a difficulty level and, a currency by clicking on the flag of a country. Mentally subtract how much money is expected back when an item is purchased. If the answer is correct, the amount of change is added to the piggy bank. If the answer is incorrect, the correct amount of change is subtracted from the piggy bank. The more money accumulated in the piggy bank, the harder the questions become. Change Due provides students practice counting money and determining the fewest coins needed to make the correct change. To use Change Due, click the ‘Start’ button. Determine the total amount of change due using the fewest coins needed to make the correct change. Start with the highest denomination of coins or bills. Use as many of these as possible without exceeding the amount of change due. Click ‘Check Answer’ to see if the amount of change due is correct. |
