Button Beach Challenge helps students find solutions to difficult problems. Have your child explain how they are solving the problems.

To use Button Beach Challenge, have students enter their names and click the ‘Start’ button. Each coloured button is worth a number. The grid shows the totals of some rows and some columns. Study the value of the buttons on the grid and input their value in the legend below the grid. Input the missing numbers in the text fields and click ‘Check’ to see if the answers are correct.

Penalty Shootout helps students practice solutions to different mathematical problems. Have students explain how they are solving the problems.

For each of the ten questions answered correctly, students have a chance to score for the team. Begin by selecting a difficultly level. Select the set of questions from A-E to answer. Select a player and a goalie by clicking on one face for each position. Click ‘Questions’ to start the game. Questions that are answered correctly allow students to score against the goalie. Place the cursor anywhere within the net and click on the mouse. The ball will go where students have clicked inside the net. After students have taken their shot, a new question is loaded to answer. After students have answered the 10 questions, all the answers to the questions are given by clicking on the screen. To play another game, click the ‘Restart’ button.
