Lesson 6 - Circle Graphs

 

To encourage your child to have fun on the Web while learning about Circle Graphs, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Circle Graph lets your child interpret the predefined data displayed on the circle graph or enter their own data.

To use Circle Graph, choose a data set from the pull-down menu, or type in the data in the data box. To enter your own data, choose 'My Data' from the "select a data set" menu. Enter a title in the 'Describe your data' text field. Enter your data in the 'Enter the data' text field. Write in the numeric value first, followed by a comma, and then the description or category. Click the 'Update Chart' button to show the results. To clear all the data, click the 'Clear Data' button.

 

Pie Chart helps your child create, organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas using circle graphs.

To use Pie Chart, type the name of the categories to be displayed in the 'Category' text field. Type the number of items for each category in the 'Number' text field. Check the 'Show Key' box to show the categories and colour legend below the chart. Click the 'Draw Chart' button to show the circle graph. Click the 'Reset' button to clear the workspace.
